Computer heaven.

It's dissapointing to say I've not been updating this as much as I would have like - infact, I've been seeing things I can fix too. I might have a play around eventually and see what we can do.

Anyway. Part of the reason as to why I haven't been updated was the fact that my computer died a few weeks back - which is good for me, since I decided I wanted to buy a new computer. I am now obsessed with my new computer.

I now have a shiny new 20" iMac sitting on my desk, and it's simply gorgeous.

Everything, as you would expect, was so easy to set up. Even after 4 days of having my Mac, I am still stoked, I am still extremely happy. I have the whole package - everything is top notch, really.

So, hopefully now, I will be more motivated to get onto some of these ideas I have.

And now, to save up for my other big purchase - a camera..

Things work out well in the end.

Things work out well in the end. It's surprising, but on the occasions it happens I'm totally thankful.

I've been having a bit of unwelcome bad stuff happen to me lately, and it's definitely brought the mood down, more than usual. I usually don't find it too bad to try and get out of the slump, but lately it's been hitting hard.

Last night (and the events leading to this morning) was a good example of this. Gold and I had just come from a Vino Fino wine tasting, and we were walking down to the Strip to find a cab to go home. It was cool, too, the cab driver was one we recognised, and he was as polite as ever. He kindly dropped us home and I was happy, till the next morning...

After rushing to get to work, and being offered a lift, I decided to skip making lunch, and get my Eftpos card instead. In my wallet. Which I couldn't find. I was absolutely lost, and angry. I slowly got over it, after Gold promptly rung the cab company and tried to locate the wallet. Unfortunately, the cab driver was off till 5pm, so I had to try and forget all about it.

The weird thing was, Gold had my Eftpos card in his back pocket. We are still trying to figure out how it got there. But I digress.

After getting home, I rang the cab company and the lovely operater radioed in the cab (it was a good thing I remembered the cab number..). The cab driver then located my wallet, which was about to fall out of his car if someone wasn't careful. When he dropped it off, I opened it up - nothing was stolen, and I gave him $20 dollars.

I guess good things do happen in the end.

I need to stop sweating the small stuff!

To delve into a completely different topic, though, I have found something I have been desperately trying to look for. Today I went in an antiques shop and found old, broken clocks with brass cogs. I have been wanting a bunch of these for ages, for projects and steampunkifying things. The guy (and everyone at work) looked at me weirdly. I can't wait to create some awesome sculpture stuff. All for 30 dollars. A bloody bargin in a town like this, I tell you..

Look out for some creations coming up soon!

It's been, a few weeks..

It's been an interesting few weeks. Not the most pleasant, and sort of unexpected, but I guess that's the joy of life. Not only have I experienced the loss of someone close to me, I have been under a bit of pressure at work and I had my car broken into on Friday night. You would think that it would be easier to start 2008 with a fresh slate, but unfortunately something is in the air.

Despite these things though, I am doing my best to keep my chin up. I finally turned 23 on the 24th of January, and I had an awesome surprise pot-luck birthday dinner with obligatory icecream cake. It was a really nice surprise, and I was very spoilt by the end of the day.

Along with the birthday came some awesome birthday gifts, and I will be able to prompt myself to use one in particular - being an artists easel. I've been trying my best to get into the habit of doing a few paintings, and my boyfriend is trying to prompt that habit for me.. Eventually I will do something about that, and hopefully the outcomes will be posted on this website.

Last weekend also gave us a a new tenant at our flat for an indefinate period of time. We helped shift Lana into our place as her lease had run out, and she unfortunately hadn't found a place that wanted her - so she is crashing at our place, and if things work out, might live here for a while.

Apart from that - life is slowly coming along. It's just weird how things turn out. Next year, instead of giving me happy wishes for next year, give me a fuel voucher or something instead!
