Things work out well in the end. It's surprising, but on the occasions it happens I'm totally thankful.
I've been having a bit of unwelcome bad stuff happen to me lately, and it's definitely brought the mood down, more than usual. I usually don't find it too bad to try and get out of the slump, but lately it's been hitting hard.
Last night (and the events leading to this morning) was a good example of this. Gold and I had just come from a Vino Fino wine tasting, and we were walking down to the Strip to find a cab to go home. It was cool, too, the cab driver was one we recognised, and he was as polite as ever. He kindly dropped us home and I was happy, till the next morning...
After rushing to get to work, and being offered a lift, I decided to skip making lunch, and get my Eftpos card instead. In my wallet. Which I couldn't find. I was absolutely lost, and angry. I slowly got over it, after Gold promptly rung the cab company and tried to locate the wallet. Unfortunately, the cab driver was off till 5pm, so I had to try and forget all about it.
The weird thing was, Gold had my Eftpos card in his back pocket. We are still trying to figure out how it got there. But I digress.
After getting home, I rang the cab company and the lovely operater radioed in the cab (it was a good thing I remembered the cab number..). The cab driver then located my wallet, which was about to fall out of his car if someone wasn't careful. When he dropped it off, I opened it up - nothing was stolen, and I gave him $20 dollars.
I guess good things do happen in the end.
I need to stop sweating the small stuff!
To delve into a completely different topic, though, I have found something I have been desperately trying to look for. Today I went in an antiques shop and found old, broken clocks with brass cogs. I have been wanting a bunch of these for ages, for projects and steampunkifying things. The guy (and everyone at work) looked at me weirdly. I can't wait to create some awesome sculpture stuff. All for 30 dollars. A bloody bargin in a town like this, I tell you..
Look out for some creations coming up soon!
